Technical Awards- NAEA

 

If you want to show that you belong to a professional body representing the interests of both estate agents and buyers, sellers and letters than you should consider getting qualified by the NAEA. The Technical Awards in Sale of Residential Property AND Residential Letting and Property Management are recognized by the Examinations Board of the National Association of Estate Agents as a sufficient qualification to be able to address issues relating to property management. .

 

What previous qualifications do you need?:

 

In short, you don't need any previous qualifications or experience to take your Technical Awards. You will be tested in a series of multiple choice questions.

 

Course syllabus:

 

The syllabus for the two different Technical Awards certificates are a little different and are outlined below. .

 

**SALE OF RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY

 

1) Health and safety, security and general law

2) Law relating to residential property sales

3) Practice relating to residential property sales

4) Property appraisal and basic building construction

 

**RESIDENTIAL LETTING AND PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

 

1) Health and safety, security and general law

2) Legal aspects of letting and management

3) Residential property letting practice

4) Residential property management practice

 

Studying for the test?

 

The NAEA offers a wide variety of ways to study for your Technical Awards. You can take the course through...

 

1) A local college offering the courses

2) Manchester Open Learning (MOL) - Distant Education

 

Each of the 4 units mentioned above must be completed within a 30 minute time frame. You can take all 4 units at once or each one individually. Each unit is broke up into 20 multiple choice questions which require a minimum of 65% in order to qualify to pass.

 

As mentioned earlier, you require no previous education or experience requirements. That being said, the NAEA's website recommends you study for at least 60 hours for the Technical Awards if you have experience in an agency and up to 150 hours of studying for those without experience in an agency.
