The NAEA Diploma in
Residential Letting & Management - DipRLM
The DipRLM offered by
the National Association of Estate Agents is a course where estate
agents will learn how to professionally operate in the realm of
residential letting and management. The testing curriculum will test you on more
than just basic knowledge of the course material. This course will
also test you on your ability to come up with solutions to difficult
and uncommon problems .
How do I get my DipRLM?
Getting your DipRLM is
similar to getting you
DipREA and your DipCPA. For starters you're
going to need to successfully complete and pass 5 units of study.
You will have 4 (3 hour) examinations and a final project. The
modules are outlined below
1)
Legal aspects of letting and management I
2)
Legal aspects of letting and management II
3)
Letting and property management practice
4)
Business promotion and organization
5)
PROJECT: Letting and property management project covering many subjects.
As you can tell, this is
no walk in the park. Getting your DipRLM will take time and
patience. The good news is that you have a fairly long time frame to
complete this course. You are granted a 3 year window to complete
the course from the time you write your first test. Likewise, you
only require a pass mark of 45% to be able to continue on to the
course.
How & where to study:
There are a few options
for studying for your DipRLM. They are outlined below
1)
Through MOL (Manchester College of Arts and Technology) through
distant education
2)
In house training through an estate agency
3)
Through courses offered at colleges in your local area.
It is recommended that
you allow for approximately 350 hours of learning time to take this
course. If you decide to take the distant education option through
MOL you can learn at your own pace, when it's convenient to you.
Otherwise you will have to follow the schedule of your in house or
college training program.
Examinations for this
test are held in April and September and can be taken in London,
Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester. The fee for each
examination is 58.75 GBP.
